SUMMARY:EMT Initial - Fellowsville
DESCRIPTION:This 155-hour course is being conducted in Fellowsville\, WV (P
 reston County) beginning Monday\, March 16\, 2020 at 6:00pm.  An exact lo
 cation for the course is still TBD.  Class will meet on the following dat
 es: March 16\, 18\, 20\, 23\, 24\, 25\, 27\, 31\; April 1\, 2\, 3\, 7\, 9\
 , 10\, 11\, 20\, 21\, 23\, 25\, 27\, 28\, 29\, 30\; May 2\, 4\, 6\, 7\, 9\
 , 11\, 13\, 15\, 18\, 20\, 22\, 26\, 27.  Weeknight classes will be 6pm -
  10pm\, and Saturday clases will be 8am - 4pm.  The course instructor is 
 Josh Tompkins.  Some of the Saturday classes may be held at United Techni
 cal Center to incorporate high fidelity simulation manikins into the cours
 e.\n\nThe tuition fee\, first NREMT testing fee and book will be covered f
 or this class.  There is no cost to the student for tuition\,  first NRE
 MT testing or book.  Student will be responsible for WV State Certificati
 on fees.\n\nThe course also requires a clinical component to be completed 
 outside of class hours during which you will ride along with an EMS agency
  to complete 10 patient assessments. These assessments must be completed p
 rior to being approved to take the NREMT exam once the course is completed
 . You will receive more information on the clinical component during the c
 lass.\n\nUpon successful completion of the course\, you will be eligible t
 o sit for the National Registry of EMTs exam\, with the initial exam attem
 pt\, as mentioned above\, being included within the course tuition.  This
  test will be scheduled at your convenience at a Pearson Vue testing cente
 r.  If seeking certification in a state other than WV\, you will not need
  to complete the WV certification process/fees\, and will simply need to p
 ass practical testing and NREMT examination before proceeding with the cer
 tification process in your desired state.\n\nIf seeking certification in W
 est Virginia at the conclusion of the course\, the West Virginia Office of
  EMS requires a $75 fee for certification which is paid online\, and a $45
  fee for fingerprinting/criminal background check. You will receive direct
 ions on that process during the class.\n\nPre- registration for this class
  is required. Class is limited to 25 students.  Absence allowance is 10% 
 of the total class hours = 15 hours. Make up of missed classes will be at 
 the discretion of the course instructor.\n\nInterested persons should regi
