ISBN is 9781284080179) will be available for purchase at th e first class session for $110 (must be paid in order to take a book) or y ou can purchase/borrow one on your own. If you borrow/purchase your own\, make sure to get the most current edition.\n\n \;\n\nThe course also r equires a clinical component to be completed outside of class hours during which you will ride along with an EMS agency to complete 10 patient asses sments. These assessments must be completed prior to being approved to tak e the NREMT exam once the course is completed. You will receive more info rmation on the clinical component during the class.\n\n \;\n\nUpon suc cessful completion of the course\, you will be eligible to sit for the Nat ional Registry of EMTs exam\, with the initial exam attempt\, as mentioned above\, being included within the course tuition.  This test will be sch eduled at your convenience at a Pearson Vue testing center.  If seeking c ertification in a state other than WV\, you will not need to complete the WV certification process/fees\, and will simply need to pass practical tes ting and NREMT examination before proceeding with the certification proces s in your desired state.\n\n \;\n\nIf seeking certification in West Vi rginia at the conclusion of the course\, the West Virginia Office of EMS r equires a $75 fee for certification which is paid online\, and a $45 fee f or fingerprinting/criminal background check. Class is limited to 25 students.  Absence allowance is 10% of the total class hours = 15 hours.
