DESCRIPTION:WV Public Service Training will be conducting an Emergency Medi
 cal Responder course beginning May 15\, 2023 from 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm at Be
 lmont VFD (218 Main St.\, Belmont\, WV 26134).\n\nWhere: Belmont VFD (218

 Planned Meeting Dates: Mondays with online component\n\nTime: 6:00pm - 10:
 00pm\n\nOrientation is in person at Belmont on May 15.\n\nThis course emph
 asizes the skills needed to provide basic emergency care during the first 
 phases of an emergency. The course is 72 hours of classroom and practical 
 training in all aspects of initial response to a medical emergency. To rec
 eive certification by WVOEMS as a First Responder\, participants must succ
 essfully complete practical skills evaluations\, and pass the computer-bas
 ed National Registry cognitive (knowledge) test. Recertification is requir
 ed by National Registry every two years. This test will be scheduled at yo
 ur convenience at a Pearson Vue testing center. If seeking certification 
 in a state other than WV\, you will not need to complete the WV certificat
 ion process/fees\, and will simply need to pass practical testing and NREM
 T examination before proceeding with the certification process in your des
 ired state.\n\nAbsence allowance is 10% of the total class hours = 7.5 hou
 rs. Make up of missed classes will be at the discretion of the course inst
 ructor.\n\nFee:  $380 to include tuition and textbook\n\nPRE-REGISTRATION
