Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) – Partial grant funding through Jobs & Hope

This 155 hour minimum program is the basic level of EMT care by the West Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services. This class meets the National Standards Curriculum.  The EMT candidate must successfully complete the program, complete required clinical time, complete the practical skills testing, and obtain a passing score on the computer-based National Registry exam. Recertification is required by National Registry every two years.

WVPST is partnering with Jobs & Hope to provide a partially grant funded class. Jobs & Hope will cover the expenses for a textbook, one NREMT testing fee, and one Platinum Education entrance/exit testing fee. The student will be responsible for class tuition of $300, and this must be paid on the first night of class. Books will not be issued until class tuition is paid. If you are a member of a department that will pay your tuition fee, please email sradford@wvesc.org for a payment authorization form. This form must be filled out and turned in on the first night of class.

Class will begin on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 5:00 pm at BEST Ambulance. Classes will be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm (April 6, April 7, and June 1 will be from 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm). There will also be two Saturday classes held from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm on the following Saturdays: Feb 26, 2022 and May 28, 2022.

There are a limited number of 15 seats available for this class. You must pre-register.  For additional questions, please email Shelia Radford: sradford@wvesc.org
