DESCRIPTION:Newly certified firefighters and EMTs often face a variety of c
 hallenges “breaking into” a new paid or volunteer position within an o
 rganization.  The transition from student to responder is at best challen
 ging\, and at times overwhelming.  Facing the realities of emergency resp
 onse can sometimes even be underwhelming.  Finding one’s place within a
 n organization\, and within a local emergency response system\, can at tim
 es seem daunting.  It can be tough to figure out how to build upon the ex
 citement and growth that occurred within the initial certification program
 .  All of these things make it easy to fall into a rut\, or even worse\, 
 to fall out of the organization/system all together.  The good news is th
 at this doesn’t have to be the case!  This 2 hour course\, delivered as
  a virtual instructor led webinar\, is designed to provide guidance and en
 couragement to both newer emergency responders\, and the veteran responder
 s that might be involved in mentoring them.  We will look at ways to stay
  engaged\, stay motivated\, promote lifelong learning\, and ultimately bec
 ome more than just a number on our organization’s roster.\n\nThe course 
 instructor is Brian Potter\, and there is no cost to attend.  The course
