The Mineral County Emergency Services Training Weekend will be held Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, April 26, 27, and 28, 2019.  Registration and will be at Frankfort High School, 393 Falcon Way, Ridgeley, WV 26753.  Registration will be from 5 – 7 pm Friday, 7 – 8 am and at Lunch Saturday and Sunday.  The Mineral County Emergency Services Training Weekend is hosted by The Mineral County Firefighter Association, and the Mineral County Ambulance Authority, in cooperation with WV Public Service Training.  Classes will run from 8 am – 5 pm.  Morning Classes start at 8:00 am.  Classes will break for a 1 hour lunch.  Lunch is provided.

Cost for the school:

·         2 day registration is $65 for early registration and $75 for registration at the school

·         1 day registration $35 for early registration and $45 for registration at the school

·         Some classes require the purchase of a textbook.  Payment for textbooks is payable at registration.

Applicants are encouraged to pre-register. Pre-register on this page or pre-registration forms can be submitted.

Early registration deadline is April 19, 2018.  Registrations made after April 19 will pay the $10 additional registration fee.  Participants can register on the day of the event.

Classes may be cancelled without enough pre-registrations

Junior Firefighters (Ages 16 & 17) must have a permission slip filled out by their parents and Fire Chief.  Junior Firefighters who have the required prerequisite training can participate in Rope Rescue Level 1, Basic Pumps, and EMS Classes. Click here for the Jr FF Permission Form

Persons attending non-classroom hands on classes must be members of a fire department, rescue squad, or other emergency services organization.

Anyone needing overnight accommodations can find Hotels in Cumberland MD, Keyser WV, Romney WV, and LaVale MD.

Class 101 – Rope Rescue, Level 1 NFPA 1006, Ch. 6, 2013 ed. – 20 hrs, Fri 6 to 10 pm, Sat & Sun 8 am to 5 pm

Class 102 – ICS-300: Intermediate Incident Command System – 20 hrs, Fri 6 to 10 pm, Sat & Sun 8 am to 5 pm

Class 103 – Fire Investigation, Level 1 – 20 hrs, Fri 6 to 10 pm, Sat & Sun 8 am to 5 pm

Class 104 – Incident Safety Officer – 20 hrs, Fri 6 to 10 pm, Sat & Sun 8 am to 5 pm

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY CLASSES

Class 201 – Basic Pumps. – 16 hrs, Sat and Sun 8 – 5

Class 202 – Emergency Vehicle Operations Course – 16 hrs, Sat and Sun 8 -5

Class 301 – Autism and First Responders – 2 hrs, Sat 8 am to 10 am

Class 302 – Exploring Common Characteristics – 2 hrs, Sun 1 pm to 3 pm

Class 303 – Master Vent Program: Critical Concepts for EMS

Class 401 – Exploring Common Characteristics – 2 hrs, Sun 8 am to 10 am (Same class offered on Saturday)
